How certification practice works
  • Each track contains independent question sets — no overlap, so you can take multiple sessions.
  • Timer starts on the first question and auto-submits when it hits zero.
  • Use the question grid to jump between questions; flag any you want to revisit.
  • Results show your score, pass/fail, weak topics, and per-question explanations.
  • Progress is stored in your browser only — refreshing during an exam resets it.

Why practise with timed mock exams?

The biggest difference between people who pass an Oracle certification and people who don't isn't knowledge — it's pace. The 1Z0-071 gives you under 2 minutes per question. The 1Z0-082 is almost as tight. Untimed study lets you linger on a question for 10 minutes; the real exam will not. The SQLMentor practice exams replicate the exam's time pressure so you build the speed and intuition you'll need on test day.

Study tips

For best results: study a topic in Learn SQL or Learn PL/SQL, run the related queries in the in-browser editor, then take a timed practice set here. Repeat until you're consistently 5–10% above the pass mark under exam timing — that buffer is what survives nerves on the day.

New to an exam? Each exam guide breaks down the full syllabus, passing score, cost, and a study plan: 1Z0-071, 1Z0-082, 1Z0-149, DP-300, and PostgreSQL Associate.

Frequently asked questions about SQL certifications

Which Oracle SQL certification should I take first?
Start with 1Z0-071. It is the foundational Oracle SQL associate exam and a prerequisite mindset for everything else — joins, DDL, DML, subqueries and views. After 1Z0-071, move to 1Z0-082 (DBA I) if you administer databases or 1Z0-149 (PL/SQL Professional) if you write procedural Oracle code.
Are SQLMentor's practice exams the same as the real exam?
No. Our practice questions are written by the SQLMentor team for educational purposes and are not affiliated with Oracle, Microsoft or EDB. They mirror the official exam format — question style, timing, scoring threshold — so you build exam intuition, but the actual exam content differs.
Do I need to sign up to use the practice exams?
No sign-up, no email, no payment. Every practice set is free and your progress is saved in your browser's local storage only — never uploaded anywhere.
How long should I prepare before attempting the real exam?
Most candidates need 4 to 8 weeks of consistent study. Begin with the relevant tutorial track, then run timed practice sets here in the final 2 weeks. When you can score 5–10% above the pass mark consistently under exam timing, you are ready.
What if I run out of time during a practice exam?
The exam auto-submits when the timer hits zero, exactly like the real Pearson VUE interface. Any unanswered questions are scored as incorrect. The results screen then shows pass/fail status, weak topics and per-question explanations.
